What Is Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF)?
What does The Ordinary natural moisturizing factors do?
This is best explained by The Ordinary’s Chief Scientific Officer Prudvi mohan Kaka:
“Our skin has its own ways to try to maintain hydration.”
“When we drink water, our skin maintains some of that water. But our day-to-day activities will make them deplete in such a way that the hydration is lost from the skin or the barrier is compromised.
So the natural moisturising factors are like tiny molecules (like sugar), that tightly bind to water and they prevent water escaping.”
