The Products Our Skincare Team *Actually* Spent Their Own Money on This Month

Ever wondered what a skincare buyer puts on their face? Same.

But let's go one further. Because I also want to know about which skincare products they spend their own money on.

When you're fortunate enough to receive new brand launches to trial and review like we are, repurchasing a product once the sample has run out is the ultimate endorsement.

So, I asked four people from Adore Beauty's skin team to share a product they bought with their staff order this month.

Here's what they told me...

1. Murad Revitalixir Recovery Serum.

Who: Ellie, Skincare Assistant Brand Marketing Manager.

What: Murad Revitalixir Recovery Serum

Why it's so great:

It's a universal truth that Adore Beauty team members will experience 'Adore Beauty Face' at least once in their careers. Or, if you're like me, every few months.

What's Adore Beauty Face? It’s basically what happens when you get excited and use too many strong active skincare products, leaving your skin feeling a little bit angry. But it's OK, because when it inevitably happens, Murad’s Revitalixir Recovery Serum is the saving grace.

Even after I finished the bottle and my skin had ‘recovered' from a bout of ABF, I missed this serum in my routine and the glow it gave my skin.

So, I ordered a second bottle and since starting back on it, I don’t think I’ll ever go without it again. Look at the glow!

2. Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask.

Who: Sam, Junior Skincare Category Manager.

What: Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask

Why it's so great:

Stress, change of season and wearing a mask have got my skin looking and feeling sensitised, blotchy, dry and breakout-prone.

This Laneige mask/moisturiser is instantly calming, and the texture feels so creamy and comfortable on my skin (but not too heavy).

And even though it's a sleeping mask, I have been wearing it in the daytime, too. It actually makes a great base for makeup!

3. Skin Virtue Pure Nourish Cleanse.

Who: Mia, Skincare Category Manager.

What: Skin Virtue Pure Nourish Cleanse 75ml

Why it's so great:

Like many of us, dry and sensitive skin is my winter nemesis. The rich, creamy texture of this cleanser is so silky - it's a treat that leaves my skin feeling both soothed and hydrated.

I find it the perfect second cleanser in a double-cleanse routine. Be it AM, PM, or both, this cleanser is a dry skin dream.

4. Aspect Exfoliating Clay Mask.

Who: Danielle, Senior Skincare Category Manager.

What: Aspect Exfoliating Clay Mask

Why it's so great:

This is a way more active version of the 'ol clay mask. With a combination of AHAs and BHAs (alpha and beta hydroxy acids), this goodie is a stalwart in my weekly routine as a Sunday night treatment.

I love the tingling sensation (so I know it's working!), and it's easy to wash off, unlike so many other clay masks I've tried.

The best thing though, is how it fends off congestion and keeps my oily, blackhead-prone skin balanced. Using this regularly let's me maintain the smooth-textured skin I'm always striving for!
