Let’s be real, we’re most certainly not in a ‘treat yourself’ economic climate right now, but every once in a while, we all have those bougie beauty products we can’t resist spending our hard earned cash on, and these are mine.

Now, this article isn’t about me trying to convince you that you need to invest in the products below.

To be honest, this article should probably come with a warning that I’m about to talk about some expensive products in a way that will absolutely make you want to add them to your cart, but remember that electricity bill you still have to pay? And your rego is due soon...

Okay, I’ve given you ample opportunities to click away from this article so if you’re still here, you must be one of the lucky few with a fixed interest rate from 2020.

Let’s talk about these bougie products, shall we?

1. Dermalogica Phyto Nature Oxygen Cream.

First cab off the rank is Dermalogica Phyto Nature Oxygen Cream

At a RRP of $199, this moisturiser is certainly not one to buy on a whim.

It’s a lightweight cream that leaves my skin bouncy, smooth and hydrated – it’s been a long time since I loved a moisturiser this much.

The reviews are worth a read if you’re thinking of buying it.

Why it's so good:

  • It’s an all-rounder anti-ageing moisturiser that helps to brighten and plump the skin.

  • Contains antioxidants, botanical extracts and hydrators that leave the skin appearing more energised, lifted and radiant.

  • Has a beautiful, light botanical scent.

Why it keeps landing in my cart:

The price just can’t keep me away from this one.

If anyone’s an OG podcast listener, I love this as much as I loved Aspect’s Phytostat 9 (IYKYK).

The texture is gorgeous, my skin seems to love it, and it has this ability to leave it smooth AF (I’m still trying to figure out how it does that).

2. PCA’s Hyaluronic Acid Lip Booster.

Next up, we’ve got a product that, without sugar-coating it, is outrageously expensive, but I’m yet to find a product that even comes close to it.

It’s PCA SKIN Hyaluronic Acid Lip Booster 6g. At $99 for 6.8 grams of product (I cringe as I write that), I’m confident if it were available at a lower price point, it would be a viral sell-out.

Why it's so good:

  • It contains hyaluronic acid, peptides, vitamin E and botanical extracts.

  • It helps to increase lip volume with long-lasting hydration.

  • Can help to improve the appearance of superficial lip lines.

  • Leaves the lips feeling nourished and looking smooth and plump.

Why it keeps landing in my cart:

I’ve repurchased this product at least 6 or 7 times, and not because I want to – I simply have to.

My lips won’t stay hydrated and plump with anything else now that they’ve been treated to this.

I’m still on the hunt for a more affordable dupe.

3. L'Occitane Almond Firming Milk Concentrate.

Now for all my friends out there looking for a body moisturiser that you’re almost guaranteed to fall in love with, I introduce you to L’Occitane’s Almond Firming Milk Concentrate.

I’m a big fan of the whole almond range by L’Occitane (you’ll be hearing more about that from me in the future), but I recently bought L'Occitane Almond Firming Milk Concentrate 200ml for a friend who was looking for a good body moisturiser and she hasn’t stopped raving about it.

Why it's so good:

  • It has a silky, whipped texture that glides over the skin, easily absorbing without being too lightweight.

  • Enriched with almond milk and almond oil to nourish, hydrate and firm the skin.

  • Feature’s L’Occitane’s signature almond scent which is hard not to love.

Why it keeps landing in my cart:

The smell of this body moisturiser alone is enough to sell it to you, but then you feel the texture of it on your skin, and how soft your body feels the next day, and you’ll struggle to pry it out of your own hands.

I wish it came in a 500ml size because I go through it way too quickly!

4. Lumira Glass Candle - No352 Leather & Cedar.

And last but not least, a newer discovery of mine: Lumira Glass Candle - No352 Leather & Cedar Large

I’m a long-time Lumira fan (hello, Cuban Tobacco) but I hadn’t had the pleasure of inhaling this fragrance until recently. As soon as I got a whiff, I was addicted.

Why it's so good:

  • It’s an elegant and soft fragrance, but at the same time it has a sexy edge to it.

  • It has notes of French leather, amber, cedarwood, vanilla and musk.

  • Housed in Lumira’s signature black glass vessel.

Why it keeps landing in my cart:

I decided this fragrance (which comes in a perfume oil here: Lumira Perfume Oil - No352 Leather & Cedar 10ml) encapsulated what I wanted my house to smell like (you know how everyone’s house has a smell?) because it’s a perfect blend of feminine, with a hint of masculinity from the spice and leather notes.

If Cuban Tobacco is too rich for you, I bet this will be the perfect balance.

I hereby declare I am not responsible for you accidentally slipping and adding these to your cart, and I hope you enjoy that TimTam with your order.
