How does The Ordinary Buffet work?

The Ordinary Buffet was developed to target multiple signs of ageing with a powerful cocktail of Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, and Amino Acids. The combination of 6 Peptide Complexes helps diminish fine lines and dynamic facial folds, whilst the Hyaluronic Acid plumps and hydrates the skin for a firmer look and feel. A blend of Amino Acids helps to stimulate collagen production for a hydrated and younger-looking complexion.

How to use The Ordinary Buffet

The Ordinary Buffet is a water-based solution that can be used in both a morning and evening skincare routine. It should be applied after cleansing and after other water-based serums, and before oil-based products and moisturisers.

Who should use The Ordinary Buffet?

The Ordinary Buffet is suitable for anyone who has developed signs of ageing. It is also beneficial to those who have dry or dehydrated skin and want an extra hydration boost.

What are the key ingredients in The Ordinary Buffet?

The Ordinary Buffet contains a potent blend of 6 Peptide Complexes and 11 skin-friendly Amino Acids. These are suspended in Hyaluronic Acid in multiple molecular weights to create a weightless, water-based formulation. This anti-ageing facial serum is also vegan, gluten-free, silicone-free, alcohol-free, and nut-free.

Other products The Ordinary Buffet works well with

The Ordinary Buffet works exceptionally well in combination with The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid Emulsion 2%, The Ordinary Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%, and Natural Moisturising Factors + HA to form a well-rounded anti-ageing routine.

The Ordinary Buffet vs Matrixyl

If you are wondering which The Ordinary serum to choose for anti-ageing, Buffet and Matrixyl 10% + HA are popular choices. Whilst Matrixyl features a single Peptide Complex, Buffet contains 6 Peptide Complexes that work simultaneously for more dramatic results. The Buffet also contains Amino Acids, whereas Matrixyl 10% + HA does not contain any.

Is The Ordinary Buffet good for acne?

The Buffet has been specifically designed for those with dry, dehydrated, or ageing skin. Whilst someone with acne may benefit from the smoothing and hydrating formula, it is not recommended as an acne treatment itself.

Is The Ordinary Buffet good for scars and pigmentation?

This anti-ageing serum has not been specifically formulated with scarred or pigmented skin in mind. There are other products from The Ordinary skincare range that are more beneficial for those who suffer from scarring or pigmentation. However, The Buffet can still be used to achieve smoother and more hydrated skin.

Is The Ordinary Buffet good for rosacea?

Those with rosacea may experience dehydration, so The Buffet serum could be used as part of a skincare routine to boost hydration levels. However, The Buffet is not a rosacea treatment in itself.

Is The Ordinary Buffet comedogenic?

The Ordinary Buffet is non-comedogenic.

Is The Ordinary Buffet good for wrinkles?

The Ordinary Buffet was developed with ageing and mature skin in mind, so this product is a particularly good treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. The blend of Peptides, Amino Acids, and Hyaluronic Acid helps to reduce the depth of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as diminish deeper, dynamic facial folds.

  1. Skincare staple!

Less than a month after starting to use this, i have noticed improvements in my skin's texture. Keeps it well hydrated and soft! Use am and pm between my vitamin b/c serums and face oil. Well worth a try!
  2. Love this!

I bought this about two weeks ago and I've been using it every night since - from day one it gave my skin such an amazing glow! I've bought products that cost four times as much and don't give half the results that this little bottle of goodness does. Love!
  3. Excellent!

I love this product! I care a lot about my skincare and have a regimen but, when I don't have much time, this product or the sister Buffet + Copper Peptides is all I need with a moisturiser. I have normal/dry skin and in my early 30s and love it!
  4. Soo many compliments- glowing skin!

This is such an amazing product! Such a great all-rounder and what a treat for your skin! Pretty much as soon as I began using it (it was my first purchase from The Ordinary brand) I had so many compliments from my colleagues about my glowing, fresh and clear skin. I couldn't believe it. i have oily skin, prone to breakouts and congestion and this worked wonders to clear, tone and brighten. It is always a staple for me now. It also doesn't hurt that it is super affordable! On another note, I love how these products come in glass- so good for our environment!
  5. Amazing

I've purchased this twice and love it. Such an affordable and quality all rounder serum.
  6. Great serum at a great price

This is a really great product at a really affordable price. Not at all greasy, goes on easily. I would definitely buy again.
  7. Such great value

I haven't been using this long but already I feel that I notice a difference. Skin is plumper around my smile lines. It can sometimes lather up when going on but this quickly goes away and it sinks in. I haven't had trouble with pilling when applying moisturizer or creams overtop.
  8. Must have face product!

I still don’t know exactly what this product does however I know it has helped my complexion look amazing since using it for the past few weeks. Can’t live without product for sure!
  9. Great for fine lines

I am 35 and have only just started using this product. So far I have seen improvement in the fine lines around my eyes.
  10. If I had to pick one...

If I had to pick one Ordinary product this would be it. (And i Love it all) Just a lovely, nourishing serum! Sinks in immediately and both me (I have very dry, sun damaged skin, with pigmentation) and hubby (extremely oily skin) use this and love it. No breakouts for hubby and super nourishing for both of us!
  11. Gorgeous

I purchased all of the ordinary products, basically just rotate their use and they all keep my skin very clear and supple and bright. I notice that overall texture and pigmentation improves and evens out. I have combo oily skin and I'm 43. My friends notice how great my skin is after using the product. If you're confused of which product to buy, start with this one.
  12. Hydrating base serum

It took a while for my skin to adjust to this serum, but once my skin began to take to it, the effects were great. I adore the price and feel my skin has been less dry and less lined. It has become a staple in my multi-step routine both day and night
  13. Nice product

It’s a lightweight serum that does really nourish skin. Because of its light texture, I can apply it anytime of the day without feeling heavy or oily. It might not be enough as a moisturiser though for people with dry skin.
  14. Glowing!!

It’s youth in a bottle! I’m 36 and a huge convert to this brand, especially this product!!! My mum and sister now use this too and love it! Makes my skin look plumper, more glowing and dewy and you can easily put makeup on top. I use morning and night. Love it!!
  15. Amazing Product

I have oily skin & large pores, this product has worked wonders on the texture of my skin, its literally never looked this good! Highly recommend this product.
  16. My #1

This product has absolutely transformed my dull and ultra dry skin in 2 months. It is my #1 product that I use morning and night. It now has a permanent place in my routine!
  17. Would recommend

I’m 53 and started using this as part of my daily regimen. I am so impressed with The Ordinary range. A high quality product and so cheap!! I’m enjoying using this serum daily before using the moisturizer. It spreads very easily and I’m noticing a definite reduction in fine lines.
  18. Great for ageing skin

This is a little sticky but very cheap and very effective. Currently turned 30 and this has helped a lot
  19. Treat yourself and give The Ordinary Buffet a go!

It's funny to think that the price of this incredible serum is so low. Other multi peptide serums can be incredibly pricey, and this one really packs in a lot of effective ingredients in one little package. So everyone says you need a serum, but what does a serum even do? It never seemed clear to me until I tried The Ordinary Buffet. Being over 40, with decades of acne scarring, plus expression lines (ok you might call them wrinkles!) and general dryness, my skin really needs a bit of help. Buffet really gives my skin a boost, I use it in conjunction with an LED light treatment and can really see a difference. Honestly, If you can't really see a need for serums in your skincare routine, you'll be surprised at the results from this power packed little bottle!
  20. Hydrating

I found this to be a hydrating alternative to Estée’s advanced night repair. Comparatively this serum is less thick and sinks in faster. Only downside I found is that it sometimes pills under other skin care and makeup layered under the top. I’ve begun usually mix this with the 30% vitamin c in silicone before applying. This serum also feels soothing when applied after derma rolling.
