  1. Didn’t love it

    C

I think it might have caused a reaction on my skin, but I have sensitive acne prone skin
  2. Unpleasant texture

    Holly

I really wanted to like this because it’s a vitamin C at a great price point, but the texture is really unpleasant when putting on (gritty) and the scent is too overpowering and almost sour. Unfortunately I ended up throwing this one away about halfway through the tube
  3. I m!

    Pipi

I mistakenly purchased this instead of The Ordinary Vitamin C 30%. I found it to be very gritty, greasy feeling and hated the smell. After applying it the first time (thankfully at night!) I couldn’t believe how much grit or ‘spheres’ were in the bathroom basin. Not for me but I love the other Vitamin C.
  4. Unusual texture, but worth it at this point

    CSF

I initially didn't like the grainy texture, but I do find that it brightens my skin. I've now reordered this multiple times and use it only at night.
  5. Smooths out my skin

    Awtty

I normally have very dry skin and tend to get a bit of redness in areas. This product helped smooth out my overall skin texture and gave it a nice even appearance. My redness dissipated after a week of consistent use. This product stings at first but I love the feel of my skin after it is all massaged on and absorbed. I absolutely swear by vitamin C serum and when I used this regularly I would rec...

It may have just been my skin, but it always tingled when I used this product and my skin didn’t look or feel great after so I stopped using
  7. Fantastic vitamin c

    Karen

I love this vitamin c. It absorbs quickly and works well under make up and sunscreen. After I started it my colleagues were commenting positively on my skin after only a few days.
  8. Leaves a glow

    Kel

I love this product but I have to use it at night due to its grainy texture. I mix it with a few drops of 5%Pycnogenol. In the morning my skin is glowing, it's definitely faded my pigmentation too.
  9. Not good

    Scarlet

I couldn't get past the grainy texture. My skin was irritated after use and it felt oily, didn't absorb well. I couldn't use it for more than a few days
  10. amazing

    lauren

i use this after my hyaluronic acid serum and then use the natural moisturiser to lock it in overnight. it left my combination/oily skin feeling glowy and hydrated without being oily. usually when i’m glowy it’s caused by extra oils in my skin but not this time. it has a grainy texture but it’s not that bad at all.
  11. Leaves skin glowing

    Kel

This product alone is gritty due to the spheres, but I mix it in with moisturiser and apply before bed. Problem solved.

Oh I love this, a very slight tingle and definite glow, love the vit c
  14. Great ingredients, formulation is... okay

    Maddie

The product is STRONG, so it will sting upon application if not diluted. I find that the formulation of the suspension lends itself to "caking" and can be rubbed off in clumps if applied too thick (or even relatively thinly). Because of this I only wear apply at night. Its a good product and ive noticed a difference in my pigmentation but i honestly probably wouldnt buy it again and go for a serum...

Bit of a weird smell but once you get past that it's an amazing product. Slightly grainy but not an issue once I put moisturiser on
  16. Usually a massive fan....

    No Go

So I love the Ordinary. I use alot of their products but this one leaves an after smell that you can't get rid of until you wash your face. I used it a few times to check it was the product that smelt weird and it is. It sounds like its packed full of essentials but I can't get past the after smell of it. Will not use and threw in the bin so I don't make that mistake three times :)
  17. Weird texture

    Annabel

Didn't love this. The texture feels very grainy. I much prefer the Ordinary's Vit C in silicone instead.
  18. Gritty texture

    Bron

This is the only product from The Ordinary that I have ever disliked. The texture was so gritty. I couldn't put make up over the top of it, so I saved it for night time routine, but then I still disliked the texture so much I just had to stop using it. I didn't even finish the bottle, I just had to get rid of it. I LOVE The Ordinary, but this one product was a real miss for me.
  19. Brighter skin

    Chris

I love what this product does for my face, but was not happy with the residue it left on my face and when I applied my make up it would crumble. HOWEVER I found using followed by Amino Acids +B5 by the ordinary made it perfect. Use this product in the AM for brighter skin
  20. Grainy Texture

    AM

I was disappointed with this product it has a very grainy texture, and seems to sit on the skin rather than absorb. Im surprised it has otherwise good reviews, and the Ordinary products I have used in the past have been very good. I would not personally recommend this one. I was much happier with an alternative brand I have used in the past, that I plan to return to.
  21. Works like magic

    Shifa

Been using this since years. Makes my skin brighter and healthier. Suits pretty much everyone as my sisters use it and love it too even though they have different skin type than me.
  22. Too strong

    Candy

I used to use 30% vitamin C serum, but other brands, which is fine, but this one is too strong for my skin. The texture is get me off too
  23. I mean, it probably works ..

    renee

my poor sensitive skin couldn't handle this at all. also horrible to use, as it feels really gritty, not a pleasant experience
  24. Greasy

    Kiara

Leaves the skin looking and feeling very greasy. Definitely can not be used in the AM due to this
  25. Don't like it

    Kat

I hate the gritty and sand like texture of this cream. It also has scent that I don't like. Don't think I'll be finishing this product

Unbearable sting. Cannot say if it is the same for everyone but definitely not for me.
  28. Sandpaper

    Bluebum

Feels like rubbing sandpaper on skin. I mixed it in with a cream, and still the feeling remained. It also greased up my face bad! I wish I could love it,the price point is great. But...I won't be repurchasing. Just can't get past the gritty texture
  29. A lovely product!

    Marta

I love this product. It makes my skin far softer and vibrant. Highly recommended!
  30. Amazing results

    Janie

Yes it feels gritty but my skin has also never been so soft! A bit of sting in the first week but not unbearable. Definitely keep using this and buying continuously
  31. Hot sand

    Rach

This is horrible. The texture feels exactly like when you have sand on your face and have to reapply sunscreen at the beach. I never have issues with products being too harsh but this made my face sting. Yuck!
  32. I hope this is helping!

    Belinda

This is pretty strong and the first time I used it, I rubbed it down onto my neck (which can be slightly sensitive) and I got a nasty rash. I think it has brightened up my skin. Start slowly.
  33. Good

    N

Another good product from the Ordinary
  34. A bit gritty but it works

    Mel

This product does have a texture that takes a bit of getting used to but it does deliver on what it says it does. I wouldn't recommend using it alongside any acids (exfoliants or others), and as the suggestions highlight, do not mix it with Niacinamide. Glad I watched Adore's informative videos on how to use this product with others as it doesn't like to be mixed with a lot of other serums.
  35. Great Vit c option

    skincare queen

great affordable option for a vit c product to incorporate into your skincare routine. I mix this with my moisturiser before applying. I find that it smooths the texture of my face out with consistent use.

  40. Good result if you tailor it to your skin

    SM

I have been using this product for 2 years. Took a while to get the hang of the routine. I use it after my TO AA+B5. I use very little (less than quarter teaspoon) and add 1-2 drops of TO AA + B5, 2-3x/week, during the day (+/- other serum) with a good moisturiser afterwards. The high concentration can cause sensitivity but I feel you need to tailor the use to your skin (how mich, how often etc). ...

  42. It hurts

    Rachel

I've used most of this product and honestly I'm not sure what it's supposed to do. I don't really notice much other than the fact that my skin gets super glowy. I also have dry/sensitive skin and this product burns my skin so much, I feel it makes my rosacea more prominent! And it's super grainy and unpleasant to touch. I'm sure it's great for other people, but just not me.

This definitely leaves my skin looking brighter and tighter when I wake up. But this really stings my skin badly. When I first started using it the stinging was almost unbearable. I had to mix it with a moisturiser for weeks before I was able to tolerate the stinging. 48. A great starter Vic C for me

    Sarah

I wanted to try a Vit C product, this seemed a good option as I love my other TO products. I have noticed a small improvement in my dullness and mild facial marks after using tis for about 3 weeks, every second night. I will say, took me a while to get the hang on the consistency - I learned it won't pill with further product layers if I mix it in with my HA + B5.
  49. A bit of a weird texture

    Cyanne

really didn’t love the texture. It felt very siliconey which I didn’t enjoy.
  50. A fan

    M

I really like using this as part of my night routine. My skin looks tighter when I use this
  51. Great antioxidant for the morning skincare routine!

    Ausrine

I use it as part of my morning routine as an antioxidant. So far, I have been really enjoying it. I was looking for a Vitamin C serum on a budget and this was the perfect option. It may sting when applying it so be warned but I personally enjoy it! It's a stable formulation in an easy to use packaging that won't run or colour your pillows orange. I will definitely be repurchasing!
  52. Not a fan

    Moni

It stings (although you get used to it), it smells metallic, it stains your pillowcase and it is gritty. Do I wake up looking amazing? Yes. If you're not bothered by smells then great, but I will be looking for a different vitamin c option.
  53. Great!

    Sarahmareedee

I’ve been wanting to try a Vit C to address some dull skin & pigmentation issues, thought this would be a good start due to the price & also since I’m happy with my other TO products. After about 3 weeks of use every second night, I’m starting to see some improvements. Just an FYI - I find it gritty and prone to pilling in subsequent skincare steps if I put it on alone, however mixed in with my TO...

  56. excellent product

    Love this

Ive been very skeptical of this brand because its so inexpensive. But, my concerns have resolved, it does what it claims to do. I can only handle this every 2nd or 3rd night at present......but its new to my skin & vit c does A LOT for skin - so I dont consider this an adverse effect - adverse effects present differently. This is an affordable & effective product - recommended
  57. Beauty is pain?

    emz

Before I go into the biggest downfall of this product, I do want to mention that it does brighten my skin really well. I wake up looking so fresh and glowing, which is exactly what I was looking for from this product. However, as I’m sure you’ve seen in most the of comments above, the stinging upon application is VERY apparent. I use the tiniest amount (the consistency is like a watered-down cream...

  58. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone

    Lola

I have dry resilient skin(the opposite of sensitive) and this product burnt so bad I had to take it off. It has sand texture inside so feels like an exfoliator. I tried to wash it off but I couldn’t because it’s more oily than oil, it’s unwashable.
  59. Good basic Vitamin C option

    ThereseEllen

Bought when on a budget. Can make the skin a little on the oily side. However, can't complain with the price of the product.
  60. Too Strong for me!

    Fae

My skin is not sensitive, but the product stings and causes redness even when I mix a single drop of it with another product to dilute it. It didn't stop after a few tries. I used a cold jade roller to calm it down eventually after applications, and the results were very good if I gritted through it and left it on, but I'm not sure this was the right product for me. I have Combination/Oily skin, s...

I got this with high hopes for the high concentration of vitamin C. However, it is quite oily and tends to make me look greasy (I have oily skin already). I also think it can sting a bit so I mix with moisturiser and use only at night. I do like the glow it gives me the next morning. For me, it's a suitable mask/ face treatment once in a while.

I didn’t know what to expect with this product but was pleasantly surprised. It does sting a bit on first use but the skin gets used to it. You also don’t need to use very much.

    Shae

I’ve used vitamin c products in the past, however whether it’s the formula or the fact my skin is much drier in my 30s but this product stings on application. I also find it doesn’t go well on top of any skin care product I’m using with it. It is effective and does what it says it will do, but I don’t think it’s the best choice for a sensitive skin.
  65. glow

I like using this at night. It can moisturise well
  66. Good but quite rough

    Sacha

The texture of this is quite rough, it says powdery but it's definitely more course than that. I think it is good but doesn't work well with other products, so best used under others or on it's own. My skin does feel like and soft after using it, if you can get past the texture.
  67. I really wanted to like this

    Sam

I really really wanted a cheap vitamin C product because I had luck with another serum but it was getting too expensive for me as it was over $60. The product is a tad challenging to the nose(smells a bit dodgy) and yes it stings (makes your face feel alive!) BUT if you can overcome these challenges this product is absolutely smashing - glowy skin and a smile on your face please note use sparingly honestly it’s fab
  70. Basic vitamic C product

    Starry

If you want to incorporate vitamin C into your skincare routine without spending a bomb, this is the product for you. It's not the most cosmetically elegant product - it really is like gritty little pieces of vitamin C suspended in a tacky lotion. But if you can get past that it really works.
  71. Great product

    KH8

Love this product, use it every night and always have glowy skin the next day. My skin is a bit sensitive to it but I just mix it into my moisturiser and no more tingling.
  72. I saw visible results!

    Dee

I used this prior to the transition to skinceuticals CE Ferulic. I did see visible results on my skin - it was lighter, not as dull, and some pigmentation got lighter. It does sting though so just an FYI.
  73. Prefer to use at night

    Karen

Not completely sold on it - has a lotion consistency, with a gritty texture and gives my skin a itchy tingly feeling. Because of this I prefer to use it at night, but usually prefer a C for the AM. But after 6 weeks use with the TO Serum in the AM I can see some fading on my sun spots. Wouldn't purchase again though.
  74. Great for the price

    A

Left my skin looking a lot less ruddy and textured, the product did have a slight gritty texture but I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't read the reviews prior. The only downside is that my nose was peeling for a few days and there is quite a bit of stinging at first (both of which subdued once my skin got used to it).
  75. Wanted to like this

    Laura

This sounded great to me, but the concentration of Vit C must be a bit high for my skin since I found it quite irritating, along with the texture which is a bit gritty.
  76. Not sold on this product

    Cam

I'm not overly keen on this product, I found the texture of this gel/serum to be quite gritty and greasy and makes my skin feel really irritated and itchy. Applying it at night, I was finding my skin to be nice and bright the next morning but the itchy lips and eyes mean this product probably isn't for me.
  77. Its ok

    madelainejane

I needed something to help brighten my skin and was referred to this product. As soon as i put it on i got a tingle sensation which i read was normal. I cant say ive noticed a difference. The texture is a little off putting and its hard to add moisturiser/nightcream on afterwards. I would recommend a serum but will keep using to see if any changes in the next few weeks.

You only need a TINY amount, so the fact that so much rushes out when you open the product is quite wasteful. I made the mistake the first time it happened of deciding just to put it all on my face and neck. Oh my gosh - I regretted that.

Even after reading reviews and knowing this is not for sensitive skin, I got excited and purchased this hoping it would work for me. It really irritated my skin and took a week to die down.
Learn from my mistake! I recommend going with their gentler C products if your skin is reactive.
  84. Cheap

    Ma

This product definitely smoothen/brighten my skin but irritates even applying very small amount. So I use this more like a mask 1-2 times a week, apply and leave for 5-10min then wash it off :)
  93. Great value Vitamin C!

    Leticia

I don’t mind the texture of this vitamin c. Some people may not like the grittiness. It can tingle slightly and you do need to research and be mindful of what other products you are using to ensure they don’t negatively interact. For the price it is great value. Since using this my skin tone is noticeably much brighter and smoother. I’m onto my second bottle!
  94. Awesome Vitamin C Cream - but don't mix it with the wrong products!

    Maisy

This product is amazing for the price point. I've noticed my skin being brighter and more even-toned after a few days use. It does tingle a little, but it tingles a lot if you mix it with the wrong products! I accidentally used this after using 'The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%' and it burned much more. This was a mistake - Deciem lists these two as clashes. I would make sure you know how yo...

  95. Bad texture

    Lepote

I was dissapointed by this product. I'm a huge fan of The Ordinary products, especially their retinol and AHA. But this Vitamin C has the worst texture. It feels very heavy on your skin and if you rub it at all it starts pilling into little balls on your face. I have tried it a few times as the price is so good, but I can't stand to keep it on for more than a few minutes. I would not recommend it.
