Foaming Cleansers

Keeping your skin clean is important for so many reasons and will ensure your complexion looks clear, smooth, and healthy on a daily basis. The best way to keep your skin clean is to reach for a cleanser in the morning and in the evening but with so many available it can be daunting to know which formulation to go for. Adapting your beauty routine to your skin type is crucial and is the most important factor to keep in mind when choosing your cleanser. Foaming cleansers are great for some skin types but not suitable for all.

Foaming cleansers are exactly what they sound like, they create a foaming lather when applied and combined with water. They are pretty powerful cleansers and will remove even the most stubborn grime, oil, makeup, and sunscreens but this does mean that they can be a little more drying than other cleansers.

However, foaming cleansers have come along way from what they used to be and are more than often formulated with nourishing oils and hydrants to ensure that moisture is locked in and skin isn’t left feeling dehydrated. Despite this, we still recommend foaming cleansers for those with oily skin and acne-prone skin the most as they will thoroughly remove excess oils and breakout-causing bacteria. We recommend you stick to cream and balm cleansers if you have dry or sensitive skin as foaming ones can be a little more abrasive.

The Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel is one of our bestselling cleansers as it effortlessly eradicates excess oils, dead skin cells, and pollutants yet has a soap-free and non-drying formula so won’t disturb your skin’s natural moisture function. The Aspect Purastat 5 Cleanser is another firm favourite. The multi-purpose foaming cleanser offers gentle exfoliation to the skin using a gentle blend of sugar and coconut extracts to detoxify skin while delivering the deepest of cleanses.

Nothing against vegans or anything, I’ve just tried a few natural, organic and vegan mascaras in my time that haven’t impressed me all that much. So when Inika’s Bold Lash Mascara landed on my desk, I wasn’t expecting it to shoot to the top of my favourite mascaras list. As it turns out, it did […]

If you didn’t think primer was a complicated enough subject already, turns out you might’ve been applying your primer the wrong way this whole time. See, you might’ve thought applying it with a brush was best practice (and the germophobe in me says more hygienic too), but most makeup artists will tell you otherwise. According […]

For anyone else who has little to no upper body strength (you should see me try to do a push up), this tool eliminates that classic strained shoulder and wrist you get from trying to curl your own hair. What I didn’t realise when I cut my hair shorter was that using my wand was […]
