Your Fave Makeup Artists Are Raving About This Foundation On Instagram

Joanna Fleming

This, my friends, is my kind of foundation. As soon as I saw Mia Connor using it, I knew it was right up my alley.

So how does Clarins Skin Illusion compare to other light coverage faves like Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk and Koh Gen Do Aqua Maifanshi foundations?

All The Details:

For starters, this gem is more affordable than the two best-selling formulas I mentioned above. And quality-wise, it really stands up to the best.

– Creates a flawless, skin-like finish with an ultra-lightweight texture

– Provides light to medium coverage with a luminous satin finish

– Enhances your natural glow while minimising the appearance of imperfections

– The super blendable formula is comparable to the texture of a serum

– Contains plant-based oils to provide long-lasting hydration

– It feels comfortable, breathable & nourishing on the skin

– Perfectly suited to normal-dry skin types & offers SPF15 protection

The Shades:

In the beauty world in 2018, 22 shades wouldn’t usually be something to write home about. I mean, other brands like Fenty and Make Up For Ever are boasting 40+ shades.

But I do want to mention that I think Clarins have managed to really nail these 22 shades. From the fairest, right up to the deepest shades, this foundation has catered for all undertones, making it so much easier to narrow down your match.

The Verdict:

I had high expectations before I’d even used it, and Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation didn’t disappoint. It’s the exact formula I look for – lightweight and dewy with a natural-looking finish. Tick!

Because it’s such light coverage, I recommend pairing it with Clarins SOS Primer so you can target any skin concerns (like redness or dullness) before you’ve even applied your foundation.

And if you’ve got oily skin, don’t write this one off entirely, just top it with a powder and good setting spray to keep excess shine at bay.

What’s Everyone Else Saying?

★★★★★ Natural, lightweight, dewy, FABULOUS! – Stef

“Absolutely LOVE this foundation; usually I go for a full coverage but wanted to try this one as it looked flawless, and I wasn’t disappointed. I find it so versatile, quick and easy to apply in the morning for a natural look for work, then I can build coverage with more than 1 layer when I’m going out. It stayed on all night (even when I was dancing all night). So pleased I’ve finally found an “all-round” foundation.”

★★★★★ Love it – Jan

“I have tried very, very many foundations over the years and this is the one I would give the highest thumbs up to! It is a lovely consistency and beautiful to spread and blend giving a glowing, healthy finish.”

★★★★★ Exactly what I was looking for – Mondaine

“It’s perfect for every day use, evens out my skin and makes it look fresh and natural while covering imperfections. I have combination dry skin and it’s quite difficult to find a foundation that won’t be a hot mess or cling to dry patches. I also love the fact that you can apply with fingers… perfect for when you’re away and don’t want to worry about taking brushes with you. I would definitely recommend it.”
